Darien School Musicians Tune Up for Holidays

DARIEN, Conn. – The drummers will be drumming and the pipers piping at Darien schools this holiday season. The Darien Public Schools Music Department has set the following schedule for holiday concerts:

The festivities kick off Friday, Dec. 2, with the Tudor/Concert Choir Candlelight Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Middlesex Middle School cafeteria. On Monday, Dec. 5, singers from Middlesex will perform two shows at Darien High School. The sixth- and seventh-grade Chorus will have its Winter Concert at 6:30 p.m. and the eighth-grade Chorus and Camerata Singers will perform at 8.

The Middlesex Bands and Jazz Ensemble will give a concert at Darien High School on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m. The Orchestras and ROCKestra will give their concert at DHS on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m.

The elementary schools hold their holiday concerts in the morning. Ox Ridge is first with a concert Friday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. On Monday, Dec. 12, Tokeneke will have its concert at 9:30 a.m. Royle’s will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The Holmes concert will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. Hindley will have its concert on Fiday, Dec. 16, at 9:30 a.m.

The Darien High School Holiday Spectrum Concert will be Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. It will feature the Band, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Pop Strings, Concert Choir and Tudor Singers.

All concerts are free and open to the public.
