Darien Student Inducted Into International Education Honor Society

DARIEN, Conn. – Darien resident and Saint Anselm College student Alexandra Ashburne has been inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.

Ashburne is majoring in English and secondary education at the college in southern New Hampshire.   Induction into The Kappa Delta Pi requires students to gain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 as well as acceptance into the college's Teacher Education Program.

The ceremony marked Saint Anselm’s first induction of a chapter from the education honor society. The organization’s charter was presented to professor Laura Wasielewski, chair of the school’s Education Department. Kappa Delta Pi gives members access to networking opportunities, publication in journals and other resources. Inductees included 22 seniors, 13 juniors, and five sophomores. These students major in various fields including elementary education, secondary education, history, English, math and Spanish.
