DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien's Holly Pond School is set to host the 17th annual Darien Family Fun Day on Sunday.
The day's events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Darien YMCA, according to a press release. The day is Holly Pond School's largest fundraiser of the year and will feature pony rides, two magic shows, gymnastics for toddlers, professional face painters, a bouncy castle, obstacle course, games, crafts, bake sale and silent auction, according to the release.
Tickets cost $25 per family, and all proceeds will benefit the school.
"Building on the success of Holly Pond’s new school facilities and last year’s record-breaking turn out, this year’s Family Fun Day will be even bigger and better than ever," representatives said in the press release. "This fun-filled family event is open to the public and is designed for pre-school and elementary school-age children."
All crafts and activities are organized and staffed by Holly Pond School parents, according to the release. Some of the activities include face painting, mini pumpkin decorating, potato sack races, beading, mask making, bowling and visiting with the Sound Tigers mascot, according to the release.
"Holly Pond School students and parents will also create themed gift baskets for the silent auction, which will be held during Family Fun Day," according to the release. "The fabulous baskets will be on display in the front lobby of the Darien YMCA; bidding will begin on Oct. 14. This year’s basket themes will be designed to appeal to a wide variety of age ranges."
Baskets include a wooden dollhouse, Legos, Leap Frog, date night in the city, tickets to professional sports games, tickets to David Letterman, Dr. Oz, a wine tour, pampering for mom, golf items, toys and items for the family, according to the release.
