Winning first place in this international creative problem-solving program enables the team to, once again, compete in the upcoming World Finals taking place at Michigan State University in late May.
This is the third year in a row that a MMS team made it into the World Finals in the Stackable Structure challenge.
This team's 18-gram structure -- made up of only balsa wood and glue -- was able to support 850 pounds before breaking. It was a clean sweep, as the team also scored the highest in their division in the Spontaneous competition.
