DARIEN, Conn. -- Five Darien High School seniors have been selected as candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program.
The students, Sarishka Desai, Christopher Drake, James Garijo-Garde, Katie Tsui and Chloe Zhou, were chosen based on a criteria of broad academic achievement and their scores on the SAT or ACT.
The Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize some of the Nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
Up to 141 students are named as recipients of the honor each year.
