The RTM voted 68 to 1 to accept a $662,743 gift from the Darien Athletic Foundation to pay for the four 80-foot lighting poles as well as a new public address system, the Darien Times said.

The lights can be used until 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, with later games allowed only on Fridays until 10 p.m., the story said. Each Darien varsity sport can play two late home games — for 12 total games — under the lights, the Times said.

The Darien Lights Brigade is looking to raise the final $210,000 needed for the project, the Times said. Visit Darienlightsbrigade.com for more information.
