DARIEN, Conn. -- In honor of "Connect with Kindness Day," classes at Holmes Elementary School in Darien read and discussed the book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today," and were encouraged to engage in acts of kindness throughout the day.

Third- and fourth-graders at the school paired up with the first-graders to make a reindeer craft.

The fourth-graders also made a “kindness fortune teller” for the first graders, filled with messages encouraging them to show kindness to others.

The event was held on Monday, Dec. 14.
