The appointment is effective July 1, and he was one of more than 50 people who applied for the position, the Darien Times said.
He has served as the assistant principal at Somers Middle School in New York since 2010, the Darien Times said.
Colella is a graduate of Rutgers University, received a master’s degree in education from Manhattanville College, and a second master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education from its Future School Leadership Academy, the Darien Times said.
