Twenty-four teams representing nine schools from the tri-state area competed, and Middlesex took home first, second and fifth place.
Of note, five of the top 10 individual scorers were from Middlesex. John Phipps was the overall top scorer, Nick Derby was second, Maya Nalawade was fifth, Anna Burgess was eighth and Alex DelVecchio was ninth.
The A team (eighth-graders Riya Krishnan, Maya Nalawade, and John Phipps) ended with a perfect 9-0 record en route to the top finish, while the B Team (eighth-graders Skyler Bennett, Shriya Desai and Jack Roberson and seventh-grader Alex DelVecchio) finished second with an 8-1 record (their only loss coming to the A team in the championship match).
The Middlesex C Team (eighth-graders Nick Derby, Henry Domenici, Grace Hand, Jackson Leone, Tyler Roland and Conway Zhou) finished 7-2. Its fifth-place finish was the highest ever at this tournament for any C team in school history.
The D team (eighth-graders Monisha Akula and Hudson Lazzara and seventh-graders Dougie Brown, Nick Liu, and Grant McIntyre) finished 4-3. The E Team (seventh-graders Will Cherico, Fin Kerhli, Iman Onbargi, Max Samroengraja and Vincent Xu) also finished 4-3, and the F Team (all sixth-graders competing in their first tournament: Anna Burgess, Kiran Ebrahimi, James Leone, Peter McLean, Noah Mobarik, and Evan O'Rourke) had a strong showing going 3-4.
