DARIEN, Conn. -- Acclaimed storyteller Len Cabral shared his craft with students at Royle Elementary School in Darien on Oct. 24.
Students from kindergarten through Grade 5 heard Cabral's original telling of traditional African, Cape Verdean, and Caribbean folktales during three performances.
He also engaged students with a demonstration on storytelling techniques as well as methods for finding and writing captivating stories.
Cabral's visit is the second in a series of enrichment events organized and funded by the Royle Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for the 2013-14 school year. The PTO's enrichment programs take place during the school day and have included author visits, theater, creative writing workshops and science programs.
