The YWCA Parent Awareness program will host “Kindergarten Readiness: A Day in the Life of a Darien Kindergartner” on Thursday, Dec. 7, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Cory Gillette, Darien Public School’s program director for Literacy and Social Studies, will be joined in the presentation by the Elementary School program directors and school principals.

Parents will hear directly from the staff who work with the children what happens in a typical kindergarten day and how to prepare their children for success. Ample opportunity will be given for questions about readiness for kindergarten in the upcoming school year.

The talk will be held Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Luke's.

To register for Kindergarten Readiness visit www.ywcadn.org/kready. Registration is encouraged so specific parking direction can be provided.

All YWCA Parent Awareness programs are free of charge and open to the public, funded entirely by private donations and fund raising efforts. The suggested donation to help underwrite the program is $10.
