The Darien Junior Football League 6 Wave picked up another win by riding the strength of their dominant line to a 35-8 win over Norwalk. Brendan Berrigan, Eddie Miller, Will Stevens, Justin Plank and Brian Keating led a defensive front that only allowed two Norwalk first downs in the Fairfield County Football League contest.
Quinn Fay, Zach Swetye and Connor Galante crushed the corners from their defensive end spots. Middle linebacker Jack Beatty led the team in tackles. Nick Percarpio made a touchdown-saving tackle on Norwalk's biggest breakaway run.
Darien's offensive line also asserted itself. Will Ahl busted through big holes to punish tacklers. Tommy Napolitano scored on runs of 13 and 46 yards. Sammy McMullin found an off-tackle hole and galloped untouched for a 21-yard score. Percarpio, Ahl, Beatty and Swetye all scored extra point conversions.
Carter Scott had another good game throwing the ball. He strayed away from his favorite target, Alex Preston, just long enough to connect on a 70-yard touchdown bomb to Napolitano and a 62-yard scoring strike to Ethan Ehlers.
