DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien residents Taylor Stauffer and Alex Sedlack helped Norwalk River Rowing capture the first place point total for boys high school teams at the Head of Schuylkill regatta.
Norwalk River Rowing also came in second in the overall high school team total (boys and girls) behind Saugatuck, another local club based in Westport.
The Head of the Schuylkill was a two-day regatta in Philadelphia with 1,543 boats entered from 230 clubs and schools from 24 states and six countries, and was Norwalk River’s last regatta of the fall season.
Stauffer and Sedlack rowed in the boys four with coxswain (under 19) that took bronze in a race with 55 boats. Norwalk River captured golds in the boys single (under 17), boys double (under 17) and boys quad (under 17).
Norwalk River also came home with bronzes in the boys four with coxswain (under 17), boys quad (under 17) and a silver in the girls double (under 17).
The teams now move indoors for winter training, and will be back on the water in early spring.
