The Darien High School boys lacrosse team continues to prove it is far-and-away the top team in Fairfield County. The Blue Wave once again showed a maturity and patience on the field, wearing down Brien McMahon High School in an 11-4 win.
Darien jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but it was reduced to 6-4 by halftime. Richard Gregory led a dominant second half for the Blue Wave, and Darien scored five unanswered goals. Gregory finished with five goals.
Darien remains undefeated in the FCIAC and in the state. It is ranked 15th in the country by Laxpower.com. Its only loss was to Haverford, Pa., the second-ranked team in the nation.
