Darien's Carly Dudzik, a junior at Amherst College in Massachusetts, was named a first-team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Carly, a junior, became the first Amherst player in a decade to earn the honor. Her sister, Alyssa, a 2009 Amherst graduate, was a three-time association selection. Her highest honor was a second team selection.
Carly, a midfielder, scored eight goals with seven assists for 23 points in the 2010 season, raising her career totals to 16 goals and 13 assists for 45 points. She was also the team's top threat on penalty corners. Dudzik also earned first team honors in the New England Small College Athletic Conference and was an All-Academic selection.
Amherst finished the season 12-4. The team's roster also includes New Canaan's Sarah McCarrick, a junior, Cos Cob freshman Sarah Canning and Greenwich sophomore Mary Katherine McNeill.
