Redd is believed to have torn the anterior cruciate ligament and possibly the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, according to The Washington Post. He was scheduled to have an MRI but results have not yet been released.
Redd, a second-year player, starred at King In Stamford before heading to Penn State. He later transferred to the University of Southern California.
"Wanna thank everybody who reached out wit well wishes, good vibes and prayers. The grind will never ever stop. I WILL be back,'' Redd posted on his Twitter account on Friday.
Redd played in 15 games last year and rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown. He also had eight receptions.
Redd was competing for a spot in the rotation behind Alfred Morris. He was carted off the field after a third quarter run in which his right leg was bent awkwardly behind and under him. He had one previous carry in the game before the injury. Washington won the game, 20-17.
