Varsity Coach Sets Youth Football Camp Schedule

Darien High boys varsity football coach, Rob Trifone has announced his summer youth football camp schedule for 2011.

Rob was the recipient of the Outstanding Football Coach of the year in 2004 from the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA). This past season he received the FCIAC Coach of the Year distinction for the 5th time. Coach Trifone's teams have compiled a 156-74 record since 1987, reflected in a winning percentage (.668) that ranks with the best active coaches in the state. Coach Trifone will be assisted by DHS high school football players.

The following camps are listed on the Darien Junior Football League Planning Calendar . The camps are offered at the Darien Summer School and are instructed by Trifone. Tackle Football Camp: June 27th to June 30th from 5:30-7:30 DHS Stadium. Full equipmentGrades 2-5. Participants will learn all of the safe and proper way to block and tackle as well as all football skills needed to play in the DJFL tackle program.

Flag Football Camp: June 27th to June 30th 5:30-7:30 DHS Stadium. Grades 1-4. Participants will be taught all skills and drills for the DJFL flag programs.

Blue Wave Football Camp: July 18th to July 21st 8:30 AM-11 AM DHS Stadium. 3 different divisions: Current grades 3rd, 4th and 5th , Grades 6th and 7th, and current 8th graders going into freshman year will all work as a team with Coach Artie Waters and other varsity staff.

Register at the Darien Summer School website . Registrations will also be taken on the first day of the camps.
