We have successfully been plowed by the MOST considerate plowman ever...he worked really hard to NOT plow in our driveways on the cul-de-sac...hoping he is finished soon and can get some rest.. View Comment
Hmm.... Thank you for the tip! Note to self, no more shopping at Best Buy, especially on a Saturday afternoon when it is potentially at its busiest time of the week.

just a thought - tear down that school and sell the property and rebuild somewhere else. All the donations collected, after helping the families with immediate issues, should go towards building a new school for this town.

So now begins the discussion, what cuts will be put back that were taken out. Will it be what Mayor Moccia and Superintendent Marks have stated, Librarians, Aides and Security personnel or will they put Teachers back in the classrooms and not make our students attend school in classes of 25 plus students?

It is unfortunate that they did not follow the proper procedures with regard to getting their permits, but in the long run it is better to have it occupied and useful rather then rotting away and becoming a fire hazard. I wish them good luck at their new location. View Comment
What a pleasant surprise that the reason for the season - Christ's birth - is celebrated in a public format in a public school. Thank you Rowayton for not taking the politically correct route and teaching your community that there is no shame in acknowledging Christmas. View Comment
Not impressed. At the intersection of Grumman, Deerwood manor and Newtown Trnpke the construction crews left 5" pipes sticking out of the street - 2-3 feet from the right hand curbs. They are just waiting for someone to run them over - the crews could have covered them with orange cones to alert people to their existence... View Comment
Uh - the title says Norwalk High Student - but the picture has the students wearing Brien McMahon sweatshirts...is the title a typo? Great job and kudos to the student for taking the initiative to help his friend!

Good Job Lisa! I hope the project repairs everything so your neighborhood can relax and not worry every time the skies darken or started raining. View Comment
Thank you AT&T - many seniors rely on this center for food, socialization, exercise and information. By supporting it you help a large majority of Norwalk citizens. View Comment
Room Parents at our school have always been conscientious about treats at the holiday celebrations and most often there are platters of fruit and veggies giving the children plenty of options - it has never been about having just ONE or ONLY sugary snacks. How about worrying about the decline in the EDUCATION of our children and stop worrying so much about what they are or are not eating...The holiday celebrations are 4 maybe 5 (if you include an end of year picnic) times throughout the year. Not enough to add to the obesity rate... View Comment
Thank you to the Daily Norwalk for hosting a contest that all students in Norwalk win. $500 for most of our schools is a lot of money and I know the PTA's greatly appreciated the boost in their fundraising efforts to be able to keep the many programs/field trips etc. going. I am not sure I understand the complaints about the change in rules. But I also asked friends on Facebook and family members to vote. I believe it was one vote per email address, not computer. I have 5 people in my house who all have their own email addresses but typically use the family computer. They all voted from their email addresses. I would not be happy if their votes were disqualified because they all used one computer to vote.
As for the votes jumping, I attributed them to the schools who have a larger school population then ours, we are one of the smallest schools in the district. And I attributed it to those schools who have corporations backing them, ie, Pepperidge Farm is currently sponsoring a program at Jefferson, if they get everyone in their company to vote then their school numbers would surely be expected to increase exponentially in a short period of time.
I am just grateful for our check for $500 - that is one less fundraiser I need to support out of my pocket and it didn't cost my family or friends monetarily either.
Thank you Daily Norwalk - we appreciate your coverage of our Norwalk community! View Comment
