Investigators took saliva samples from the beer can on the day of the burglary and sent the samples to the Connecticut State Forensics Lab for testing, according to the police report. The results returned in late 2013 !!!!!!
It took three YEARS to get the results?? Thank God some innocent person wasn't languishing in jail all that time. View Comment
Tommygirl, I respectfully disagree. This woman made a decision to steal. Actions have consequences and this story along with the police record are part of those consequences. She's the one who "ruined" her life by taking the money, not the police, the restaurant owners or the Norwalk Daily Voice. To top it off, she provided the children with her with an extremely poor example of how an adult should act. View Comment
I think this magical surplus that everyone is so happy about is actually the cash balance in the account BEFORE the bills are paid. It's not the remaining balance after the checks have been written. It's a function of the cash flow, not a surplus after the creditors have been satisfied. View Comment
Our household will be rooting for the Broncos for the following reasons:
1.) Many 49ers fans were deliberately banned from getting tickets to the game in Seattle between the 49ers and the Seahawks. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014/01/13/niner-fans-banned-from-buying-tickets-to-49ersseahawks-game/
(Could that have been a violation of the 49er fans' civil rights?)
2.) Seahawk fans threw food at the injuried 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman as he left the field. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24414824/look-seahawks-fans-throw-popcorn-at-injured-navarro-bowman
3. ) The Seahawks beat my West Coast team - the 49ers. (Boo!!! Hiss!!!)
So, here's hoping Peyton Manning & Co. will provide a little payback.
For each and every incident, the factors are different. Owning a gun is not a guarantee that you won't be attacked. What it does do is even the odds if you are carrying and you are attacked. There are some gun owners who carry 24/7/365. Others who don't. Depending on the situation, some have had time to get their guns and defend their homes.
Others haven't. You can only do the best you can with what you have. In this case, the perps were already inside the home when the daughter arrived. Right there, it went from an invasion to a hostage situation. Fortunately it didn't turn out like the Petit home invasion did.
Living in an abusive situation is wrong. There are options.
Stamford/Norwalk Domestic Violence 24 HOUR HOTLINE 888-774-2900
Domestic violence affects each and every person living in an abusive home, and is especially detrimental to children. While children may not be the target of violence, living in an abusive household affects them deeply. The DVCC has two residences that provide temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. Their goals are, first, to ensure the safety of residents and, second, to help equip them for an independent and self-reliant existence after they leave the SafeHouse.
As enjoyable as it may be for you to blame everything on Bush, it's important to realize that President Carter the Community Reinvestment Act (1977) laid the foundation for the mortgage fiasco via Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.
"His car had extensive damage, including scratches along a side, two flat tires on the driver’s side and a still-smoking engine, according to the police report."
He's lucky the engine didn't catch on fire. He's lucky he didn't kill himself or hurt someone else. View Comment
Hey there, Broad,
Most of the time, I generally look past the typos I see, but when it's the very first word of the document, I can't ignore it. Years ago, at the BOE budget presentation, I opened the budget book and in the first line of the Introduction were two misspelled words. I couldn't believe my eyes.
The main project is basically done, but there are still some details that need to be addressed. Thanks for asking! View Comment
You may want to read the information I quoted from Bloomberg's Business Week again. The State of Illinois changed their firearm regulations and now the State of Illinois issues the permits. This means that the municipality of Chicago no longer has control over who is issued a permit. It is a step towards more reasonable firearm regulations rather than a repeal of the Second Amendment.
