The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday with soaring temperatures and increasing humidity in the forecast. The Heat Index for Monday is 101 with temps in the mid-90s and dewpoints in the low 70s.

The advisory is for Fairfield County, as well as New Haven County and most of the metro New York area.

The combination of heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat-related health issues, especially for the elderly, as well as those working outdoors.

There will be patchy fog after 9 p.m. Monday with storms possible through midnight.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high over 90 temperatures.
