The latest Atlantic storm is tracking toward the East Coast and is likely to at least some impact on Connecticut next week.

The cone of uncertainty for Jose — which is going back and forth from hurricane to tropical storm status — shows the storm tracking toward Connecticut on Tuesday night into Wednesday.

With maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, Jose is expected to regain strength over the weekend and become a hurricane again. At one point last week, it was a Category 4 hurricane, the same strength as Irma and Harvey when they made landfall on the U.S.

Jose is now forecast to move closer to the U.S. mainland over the weekend before trekking north.

People in coastal areas of the Northeast should monitor the progress of Jose, according to AccuWeather.com.

The storm could bring heavy rain, strong winds, flooding and heavy surf, but the exact forecast remains uncertain.
