Strong Winds, Rain To Hit Darien This Weekend

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Strong winds could hit Fairfield County Saturday night into Sunday, along with some rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be sunny, with a high near 46. A northwest wind of 10 to 14 mph is expected. It will be partly cloudy on Friday night, with a low around 26.

Showers are likely to hit during the day on Saturday, mainly after 4 p.m. There will be increasing cloudy throughout the day, with a high near 51. Wind chill values will be between 25 and 35 early on. A south wind between 5 to 13 mph is predicted during the day.

A strong cold front may bring strong southerly winds as it approaches lat Saturday night. Sustained winds may reach as high as 40 mph, with gusts as high as 58 mph. The strongest winds are more likely to occur closer to the coast Saturday night. There is an 80 percent chance of showers Saturday night, and the low will be around 46.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers on Sunday, mainly before noon. Otherwise it will be cloudy, then gradually becoming more sunny, with a high near 52. Winds will die down a bit, but it will still be breezy, with a west wind 16 to 21 mph, and gusts as high as 37 mph. Sunday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 30.

Next week will start off pleasantly, with Monday expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
