NEAT Darien Plans 'Neater' Look; Closes Temporarily For Renovations

DARIEN, Conn. -- No need to be alarmed by the "temporarily closing" sign at NEAT Darien. You'll still be able to get your frothy cappuccinos, iced coffees, and strong espressos -- they'll just be at The Melting Pot across the courtyard instead.

The 8-year-old coffee bar will be open Monday, Aug. 7, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will officially close Tuesday, Aug. 8, for renovations. (It will be at The Melting Pot on Monday as well.)

Store manager Christina Carpanzano said NEAT just needs a refresh -- some new paint, new furniture, new shelving.

"Nothing too crazy," she said, "We just want to brighten and freshen it up." She expects the process to take about a week and a half to two weeks.

In the interim, NEAT Darien will operate with a limited menu at The Melting Pot (14 Grove St.) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
