DARIEN, Conn. – Senior Moments, a monthly coffee and conversation program designed specifically for seniors, will present “The Artistry of Connecticut Ballet” on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Darien Library in the Community Room.
The presentation will include a performance and discussion on the artistry involved in crafting some of the most well-known ballet performances. Learn how dancers are coached in preparation for unique characters in the major story ballets.
Connecticut Ballet dancers will perform solos and duets from specific story ballets. Artistic Director Brett Raphael will then lead a discussion on the development of specific roles such as the “Sugar Plum Fairy,” “Tom Sawyer” and “Titania.”
The ballet company will conduct an open rehearsal to showcase the coaching process.
The Darien Library is located at 1441 Post Road, Darien.
