DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien League of Women Voters and the Darien Library will present a screening of the film, "Thank You, Mr. President," which documents the career of longtime White House correspondent Helen Thomas, on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Thomas, who died in July 2013 at age 92, was best known as a pioneer in political reporting. When she began her career in the 1950s, women reporters were routinely assigned articles on local social events; years later, many female journalists credit Thomas with paving the way for them to report on every issue of vital importance throughout the world.

The program begins at 2 p.m. in the library's Louise Parker Berry Community Room.

The event is free and open to the public.

The library is at 1441 Post Road.
