DARIEN, Conn. – A tailgating gala supporting A Better Chance in Darien on Saturday night will feature dinner, games, music and an auction led by CBS Evening New anchor Scott Pelley.

The ABC in Darien College Tailgating Gala will begin at 7 p.m. at the Wee Burn Country Club. Tickets range from $175 each to $2,500 for a table of 10, and can be purchased online at . Even if you can’t attend the event, the online silent auction is now live at that link, and you can still bid on items to support the cause.

CBS 2 News anchorwoman Dana Tyler will be the emcee for the evening, and Pelley and his wife Jane will be the auctioneers for the live auction. Attendees can also enjoy dinner, a full bar, tailgating games, and music from the Greenwich-based Short Bus Band, which was named the “2015 Best of Gold Coast Local Cover Band.”

Proceeds from the evening will benefit ABC in Darien. Since its founding in 1981, the mission of ABC in Darien has been to provide a quality high school education to talented young girls of color from inner cities. For more than 34 years ABC in Darien has housed and educated 45 young scholars who then graduated from Darien High School and went on to earn four-year degrees from competitive colleges. Several graduates and current scholars will also attend the event Saturday.

Donations to ABC in Darien can be made on site at the gala Saturday. Those wishing to support the organization can also mail a check made out to “ABC in Darien” to P.O. Box 3204, Darien, CT 06820.
