DARIEN, Conn. -- As usual, the Darien Senior Program has a full lineup of fun and informative events for the month, sure to keep all entertained.
- Friday at 12:30 p.m. : The British Theatre Group will be presenting a funny spin on the fairy tale classic "Aladdin" in the form of a traditional British pantomime show. Pantomime includes songs, slapstick comedy and dancing, and combines topical humor with a story loosely based on a well-known fairy tale, fable or folk tale. It is a participatory form of theater, in which the audience is expected to sing along with certain parts of the music and shout out phrases to the performers. Come enjoy an afternoon of fun.
- Monday at 11 a.m. : RVNA is expanding its health and disease management programs. In this changing health care environment, RVNA is evolving without losing touch with its core mission of compassionate caregiving. Barbara Newland will present health care options now being provided in their new home.
- Tuesday, March 15 at 12:30 p.m. : In preparation of doing the Irish jig over St. Patrick’s Day, a physician from Stamford Hospital will present a program on foot health. Years of wear and tear can be hard on our feet. So can disease, poor circulation, improperly trimmed toenails, and wearing poorly fitting shoes. Problems with our feet also can be the first sign of more serious medical conditions.
- Wednesday, March 16 at 12:30 p.m.: With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner the students of Lynn Academy will be here to share in the art of Irish Step Dancing. These talented dancers have achieved numerous first place New England Regional placements, as well as top placements at the North American Championships in Irish Step Dancing.
The Darien Senior Program is at the Mather Center, 2 Renshaw Road. For information, call 203-656-7490.
