DARIEN, Conn. – The Mather Center in Darien will be holding several events for seniors to be a part of, including computer classes, musical performances and healthy living.
A new computer class begins every Friday starting Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.
Darien resident Katherine Sullivan will begin an eight-week computer class. She will cover everything from turning the computer on and working with Microsoft programs to creating a Facebook page and learning how to Skype with friends and family.
Hoot Owls begins Monday, Nov. 17, at 12:30 p.m.
The Darien Senior Center welcomes the Hoot Owls, who will perform and entertain seniors with old time favorites, folk songs, sea chanteys, show tunes and popular classics. The group is led by the well-known, local musician and singer-pianist-arranger Chris Coogan. The Hoot Owls are the singing group of the Men's Y of Westport and Weston whose mantra is "Enlightenment, fellowship and service to the community in retirement."
Stamford Hospital Lunch and Learn begins Tuesday, Nov. 18 at noon with a free lunch.
Dr. Gitelman will discuss understanding your aches, causes of back pain, back pain prevention and treatment therapy.
