DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Library is holding a screening of a family-focused film on Tuesday, April 29.

YWCA Parent Awareness will present the film screenings of "Split:Divorce through Kids' Eyes" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, and "What Every Girl Wants to Know" on May 1.

The YWCA Parent Awareness is a "family-focused program that provides support and education to parents and children in order to encourage the healthy, positive development of youth and families," according to a press release.

“Split: Divorce Through Kids' Eyes” will be screened and followed by a discussion at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Darien Library Community Room at 1441 Post Road. The running time is 28 minutes and will be followed by a facilitated discussion from Ed Moran, LCSW, a senior social worker and community educator at Family Centers in Darien.

"This documentary gives the child's perspective on divorce and the film presents a powerful opportunity for parents to feel what the children are going through," representatives said in the release. "Split features a diverse group of children, ranging from ages 6 to 12, from divorced families, sharing honestly about their experiences."

“What Every Girl Wants to Know” with Diane Frankel-Gramelis, and co-sponsored by Holmes Elementary School, will be screened at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the Darien Depot at 25 Heights Road.

Registration is recommended at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk website . For more information on the events, residents are asked to email pa@ywcadariennorwalk.org.
