NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- For the past 35 years, The Inn- Waveny LifeCare's Network independent living community , has provided seniors with an active community lifestyle in the heart of downtown New Canaan.
The Inn, Waveny's senior living retirement community, celebrated over three decades of service with a birthday clambake on Thursday, August 18. The public was invited to celebrate with residents of The Inn and enjoy fresh seafood specials prepared on-site, including lobster rolls, clams casino, steamer buckets and more. The Inn also hosted a craft beer station with an assortment of hand-selected beverages from small local breweries.
“As we celebrate this landmark year, we reflect upon 35 years of community support with deep gratitude,” said Kristin Sinatra, Waveny’s Director of Marketing. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to say ‘thank you’ to our friends, families, supporters and the greater community as a whole for supporting The Inn and its mission.”
The Inn welcomed nearly 200 guests to the 35-year celebration including families, friends, staff and volunteers.
Different from a typical retirement home, The Inn is part of Waveny LifeCare Network’s larger continuum of care, and is located in a neighborhood just minutes from New Canaan’s shops, restaurants and parks so residents feel right at home. Waveny feels it's important to provide their residents with an independent lifestyle while also promoting wellness and personal health by offering a wide array of daily activities.
Partaking in in-house events, savoring specialty meals and venturing out on day trips are a few of the ways seniors spend their time.
Always connected with the community as a whole, Waveny events such as the clambake are designed to bring together both the public and residents. Find out more about upcoming activities hosted by Waveny LifeCare Network by clicking here .
