Waveny Residents Set Up Camp On Main Street

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Waveny LifeCare Network’s residents and Adult Day Program participants recently pitched their tents, roasted marshmallows and gathered around a campfire on Main Street at The Village.

The seniors were also able to enjoy camp style sing-alongs, discuss U.S. national parks, relax with yoga instruction and even unwind with spa time. Like all of Waveny's therapeutic recreation activities, the interactive program promoted the active and healthy lifestyle offered at Waveny.

The Village at Waveny is designed to mirror a quaint New England town and meet the changing needs of seniors while providing the familiar feeling of home. As the seasons change, Main Street changes accordingly. From the decorations in the windows to the street lights and flags lining each block, residents and Day participants enjoy a safe and secure version of downtown New Canaan. To showcase their special space and resources, The Village often hosts events on Main Street for the seniors and their families to enjoy.

Beyond enjoying a full day of activities on Main Street, The Village’s residents and Adult Day participants also venture out on day trips to many exciting local destinations.
