DARIEN, Conn. --  Darien's Holmes Elementary School's Kids Care Club and Student Council teamed up again this year to host the school-wide Turkey Drive for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The drive was held on Thursday, Nov. 17.

Once again, Palmer's Market had a turkey sale so parents could purchase turkeys there; and Dan Hageney of Connecticut Green delivered the turkeys to Holmes School for the turkey drive.

One hundred twenty-eight turkeys were donated to the Food Bank this year.

Holmes School's Kids Care Club and Student Council have been working together for the past three years for the Turkey Drive.

The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County's mission is to serve as an efficient and effective provider of nutritious food to nonprofit organizations that feed the hungry in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford and Wilton, while seeking to raise awareness of, and promote action to combat, hunger in those communities. Visit the Food Bank's website to learn more.
