DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Human Services Department is in the process of taking applications for the State Energy Assistance Program for 2014-15 and Operation Fuel.

Proof of income is required. This includes, but not limited to, Social Security, pension, employment and interest income from any source. Applicants who are employed must bring his or her last four pay stubs.

Proof of liquid assets is also required. Individuals, couples, and families may have liquid assets up to $10,000 for home owners and $7,000 for renters and still remain eligible for the program.
