DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Department of Public Works will continue its bulk pick-up program again this year on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning on April 5, according to the Darien Times.
By appointment only, each residence is restricted to a single pick-up each year. Items are limited to those that are too large to carry in a passenger car or SUV including mattresses, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc., said the Darien Times.
Items should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of their scheduled pickup. Hazardous materials such as paints, propane tanks, batteries and sealed barrels will not be picked up. Residents are urged to use the Town’s website and QAlert system to schedule pickup appointments at darienct.gov , added the Darien Times.
