DARIEN, Conn. -- Representatives for the Noroton Yacht Club outlined their plans for the redevelopment of the club in addition to their application for a liquor license during a public meeting earlier this week with the Planning and Zoning Commission, according to the Darien Times.
Neighbors have been concerned, and some have protested the application for the liquor license, fearing it will bring more traffic and drunk drivers to the area, reported the Darien Times. Currently, the club has a bring-your-own-bottle policy. Club officials counter that a liquor license would allow them to have better control alcohol consumption, said the Darien Times.
Now that public meetings are finished, the issue will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a discussion on April 19, added the Darien Times.
