DARIEN, Conn. - William Lavery Curnin died Wednesday, Sept. 10. He was 85.
Curnin was born in Bridgeport, to Frank and Alice Lavery Curnin. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep, class of 1946, and Fairfield University, class of 1953. He also attended Wesleyan University. He served in the Army Air Force stationed for four years on Barter Island, Alaska. He taught at Darien High School for many years.
Curnin is survived by his wife, Arlene (Allen ) Curnin; daughters, Alice Curnin (Kemeny) (John) of Massachusetts, Barbara Kountz of Maryland, Eileen Curnin and Kathleen Morris of Bridgeport; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Alice Corcoran; and brothers, Tom and Patrick Curnin.
Calling hours are Monday, Sept. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Larson Funeral Home , 2496 North Ave., Bridgeport. Burial will be private.
