Two of the burglaries were reported on Devon Road, and the others were reported on Hillcrest Avenue, Forest Road and Chester Road. All five locations are within a half mile of each other. The burglaries were all discovered Thursday morning, and had occurred the night before, police said.

The items stolen included a $300 pair of Chanel women’s sunglasses, a $20 bill, and bag containing and iPad and an iPod, according to police reports. The bag was found later Thursday morning down the street from the site of the burglary with the electronics missing, police said.

In two of the cases, no items were reported stolen, but both cars showed signs that a suspect had entered the glove box or center console to look for valuables. No signs of forced entry were found at any of crime scenes, police said.

Another car burglary was reported on Linden Avenue Sunday morning. In that case a card containing $350 cash and an empty wallet were taken from the center console of a car parked overnight. Police also did not find signs of forced entry at that site, according to the police report.

Darien Police remind residents to lock their cars when leaving them unattended, and to not leave valuables in view. Anyone with information on the above burglaries or any similar cases can contact the Darien Police at 203-662-5300.
