An investigation began after one of the campus monitors found two 16-year-old students in the boys locker room with a couple pink pills on Nov. 7, police said. One of the students had his credit card out when they were interrupted by the monitor, police said.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the two students were in possession of a generic form of Adderall, a prescription drug used to treat ADHD.

The students told police that one had just given the other a pill, which was then crushed up. The credit card was to be used to form lines so the drugs could be snorted, according to police reports.

The students were found with one-and-a-half pills, and one of the students had thrown another half of a pill on the ground when the monitor walked into the room, police said.

The students were taken to the administration and the school resource officer, who referred the case to detectives in the police department.

One of the students was charged with possession of a controlled substance and the other was charged with illegal dispensing of prescription drugs.

While conducting follow-up on the investigation, it was determined that the student who sold the drugs had acquired them from another classmate. That student, also a 16-year-old, told police that his classmate had learned he had a prescription to Adderall and had pressured him over the past several months to give him pills.

He said that the other student had confronted him several times at school, had pushed him and demanded Adderall, police said. He finally conceded and provided him with the prescription drugs multiple times, he told police. He was also charged with illegal dispensing of a prescription drug.

The names of the juveniles arrested were not released by police.
