A 21-year-old from Hoboken, N.J., a 21-year-old from Darien, a 19-year-old from Stamford and a 16-year-old from Darien were all issued infractions for possession of marijuana. The Stamford resident was also charged with an infraction for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police received a complaint at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 about a group of people sitting at a picnic table smoking marijuana in the park. An officer went to check it out, and spotted three young men and one woman sitting at the table.

The 16-year-old and one of the men were rolling joints and had marijuana residue on their laps, police said. On the table was a blue glass pipe, two partially smoked joints and a plastic bag with marijuana, according to police. The four did not seem to be hiding that they were smoking marijuana in public, according to police reports.

The officer approached the four and spoke to them. The 21-year-old female from Hoboken told the officer that she and one of the men were smoking in the park when they saw the 16-year-old, who she used to babysit, walking with the other man.

The two pairs joined together and started smoking, according to police. Everybody brought their own marijuana. They were all issued infractions.
