Officers from the Wilton Police Department were dispatched to the library on Saturday, Aug. 11, where there was a report of a crash, where one of the motorists left the scene.

Police said that officers spoke with the victim, who advised them that a red Jeep Wrangler that was traveling the wrong way in the parking lot of the library sideswiped and left. However, the motorist who took off, Westport resident Connor Cullen, spoke to his victim and provided him with a cell phone number.

Officers were able to contact the 25-year-old Cullen, who returned to the scene to speak with them. Upon arrival, it was determined that Cullen was intoxicated and he failed multiple Standardized Field Sobriety tests and he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Cullen was charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility and driving under the influence. Following his arraignment, Cullen was released and is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Aug. 20 to answer the charges.
