Police: Money Stolen From STAR Home In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. -- More than $3,000 is believed to have been stolen from a STAR group home for people with disabilities in Darien, according to police.

On Monday, April 24, Darien Police officers met with representatives from STAR, a Norwalk-based organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. Among the organization's many operations, it runs a group home for adults in Darien. Police said they met with the representatives on a report of an apparent larceny.

During a routine business audit in February, it was discovered than about $3,400 in cash was unaccounted for, according to police. An employee who had access to petty cash receipts and had been recently terminated was developed as a potential suspect, police said.

Police said that investigation into these missing funds is active and ongoing.
