Instead, they received citations for driving too slowly and backing up traffic for miles Sunday on Route 15 north and south near Heroes Tunnel (Hamden/New Haven), according to the Connecticut State Police.

The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. when state police began receiving calls about the vehicles driving slowly and blocking both lanes of the highway so no other vehicles could pass, state police said.

Troopers Thomas Glowacki and Timothy Ruppar were able to locate the accused vehicles and conducted traffic stops, state police said.

After learning that the lead car was filming the vehicles for a pilot episode of an unidentified TV show, all 10 operators were issued infractions, they said on Facebook.

Many vehicles stuck in the long traffic praised the troopers verbally and by honking their horns.
