Body Of Missing Darien Teacher Found

DARIEN, Conn. -- The body of a former Darien teacher reported missing Friday was discovered Saturday afternoon, police said.

Suzanne Stisser, 63, a retired Darien teacher, was reported missing Jan. 1 and her body was discovered the next day.

Suzanne Stisser, 63, had been reported missing by her family on Friday after last being seen at her home at around 11 a.m., according to police. The Darien Police Detective Division and Patrol Division worked with several agencies in an effort to locate her.

Her body and vehicle were discovered in a remote location in Darien at around 4 p.m. Saturday, according to police. Police said that there were no signs of foul play, and that an investigation is still under way but no additional details are being released at this time.

"The Darien Police Department would like to extend its condolences to the Stisser family as we thank other law enforcement agencies for their assistance," Darien police said in a statement released Saturday night.

Stisser was a former physical education teacher in the Darien public school system.
