Darien Incumbents Cruise To Victory In Election

DARIEN, Conn. – Republican State Rep. Terrie Wood was among the winners in Darien elections Tuesday for local, state and federal races.

In State House District 141, Republican incumbent Wood ran unopposed. This district also includes parts of Norwalk.

The town of Darien is divided into two state Senate districts and two State House of Representative districts. Here are the results from Tuesday's election:

  • In State House District 147, Democratic incumbent William Tong defeated Republican challenger Dennis Mahoney. This district also includes Stamford.
  • In State Senate District 25, Democratic incumbent Bob Duff defeated Republican challenger William Dunne. This district also includes Norwalk.
  • In State Senate District 27, Democratic incumbent Carlo Leone topped Republican challenger Eva Maldonado and Green Party challenger David Michel. This district also includes Stamford.

Republican incumbents David Dineen and Michael Harman both won re-election to the Darien Board of Education. Democrat Michael Burke was elected to the other open seat on the board. Democrat Tony Imbimbo was not elected.

Republican William Osterndorf was elected Judge of Probate after running unopposed to fill the position currently held by Republican Michael Murray, who did not seek re-election. The probate district also includes New Canaan.

Democratic Registrar of Voters Kathy Hammell and Republican Registrar of Voters John Visi were both re-elected in uncontested races.
