“When I heard (the diagnosis), I was devastated. It’s like a death sentence," said his cousin, Ann Margaret Stango. "But if you find the right place that can do the care and the treatments, he might have a longer life.

“i’m harassing him. I’m kicking his butt,” Stango said of her cousin, who had felt abdominal and back pain for a long time before a CT scan revealed the disease.

The 50-something father of five, an avid New Jersey Devils fan, was working several jobs.

The family plans a fundraiser and tricky tray event with the Dumont Elks on Jan. 16 to help offset bills.

Meawhile, Stango has established a GoFundMe page: CLICK HERE.

"Larry was very active with the school sports with the kids," she said. "I wish doctors found it sooner."
