BRIGEPORT, Conn. -- An off-duty Bridgeport police officer was hit by a car as she tried to cross a street on Sunday, May 22, according to the Connecticut Post.

According to police, Luzcelena DeLeon, 39, of Bridgeport, was driving on Connecticut Avenue when she struck the unidentified female officer. DeLeon stopped at the scene, said the Connecticut Post.

The officer, who received non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, added the Connecticut Post.
