More than a thousand friends and strangers have donated some $80,000 to the family of a teen who was stabbed to death during an incident in front of a home in Fairfield County.
James "Jimmy" McGrath, age 17, of Shelton, was killed around 11:50 p.m., in Shelton on Saturday, May 14 during a fight in front of the residence where three additional people were also stabbed, Shelton Police said.

A 17-year-old who was stabbed to death in front of a Connecticut home was a talented football and lacrosse player.
Fairfield County resident James "Jimmy" McGrath, of Shelton, is being remembered as a "beloved" student-athlete at Fairfield College Preparatory School who was a disciplined, determined, and aggressive multi-sport athlete.
McGrath, a junior who played both football and lacrosse at Fairfield Prep, was killed around 11:50 p.m., in Shelton on Saturday, May 14 during a fight in front of the residence where three additional people were also stabbed, Shelton Police said.

Brothers Killed In Branford Crash Remembered As Inseparable Friends
Two brothers who died last month in a Connecticut crash are being remembered by loved ones as inseparable friends.
The single-vehicle crash happened in New Haven County at about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, on Hosley Avenue in Branford, police reported.
All three occupants of the vehicle died in the crash.
The driver was identified as 17-year-old Megan Nicole Povilaitis, of East Haven, and the two passengers were identified as Anthony Dudchik, age 19, of East Haddam, and Robert Dudchik, age 22, of East Haven.

The Southborough Fire Department, located in Worcester County, made the announcement on Monday, May 2, that Lisa Marie Thompson has died.

A broadcasting executive who was a volunteer fireman in the region has died at age 56.
Queens native Kevin J. Breen, who grew up in Connecticut and lived in New York's Hudson Valley, died Tuesday, April 5.
