Yorktown Heights Police Arrest Teen For Possession Of Marijuana
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Heights Police arrested a 16-year-old Mohegan Lake resident for possession of marijuana after the teen failed to perform a routine traffic procedure. Officer Michael Caprio initiated the traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. on July 26 after observing the driver fail to stop at a stop sign on Curry Street. Upon further investigation, police discovered 15 grams, or roughly half an ounce, of marijuana. Officials are withholding the teen’s name due to eligibility for youthful offender status concerns. Shrub Oak Storm 12U Goes Undefeated At Cooperstown Tournament
SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- The Shrub Oak Storm 12U baseball team traveled to Cooperstown All-Star Village this summer and wound up playing like baseball hall of famers. The team traveled to Cooperstown All-Star Village in Oneonta from June 27 through July 3. Rain delays weren’t going to derail the Storm, however, who did something that no other Shrub Oak team has ever done by going undefeated (5-0) in pool play. To Close Route 113 Near Bridgeport For Construction
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation will close vehicular traffic paths on Route 113 (Main Street) in Stratford, near the border of Bridgeport, from July 27 through Sept. 1 to complete the road’s alignment and Runway Safety Area near Sikorsky Airport. The CDOT will close the area between Sniffens Lane and Dorne Drive as crews finish the roadway tie-in at the north and south end of the project that began on July 5, 2014. PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Port Chester Police’s newest patrol vessel might not have all its official markings on it yet, but the department is already praising its new boat after the rescue of two stranded paddle boarders off Manursing Island on its first day in the water.
