Lane Closure Scheduled For Hutch
There will be overnight lane closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester for maintenance activity in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation released an alert on Thursday cautioning motorists that beginning at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 through 3 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, a northbound lane will be closed on the parkway between exit 25 (Route 127) and exit 26E (I-287.) Date For Route 1 Paving Project Changed
There has been a change of plans, leading to delays for motorists in Fairfield County on a busy Norwalk roadway sooner than expected. The Norwalk Department of Public Works issued an alert regarding a road resurfacing project on East Avenue, from Route 1 to East Wall Street, which has been moved up to begin on the night of Thursday, Sept. 6. The DPW said that work is expected to take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., through the conclusion of the project.

Crash Causes I-95 Delays
This story has been updated. There were lengthy delays on a stretch of I-95 after a crash that initially blocked the right lane near the border of Greenwich and Port Chester late Tuesday morning. Road Closure Alert Issued In Fairfield County
An emergency declaration has been put out by the Connecticut State Department of Transportation for a busy roadway in Northern Fairfield County. The CTDOT announced that on beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, there will be a closure of Route 37 South slightly north - an estimated 150 to 200 feet - of the turn for Big Trail, near the Sherman-New Fairfield line for roadwork. Crash Causes Gridlock On I-95 Stretch
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of I-95 early Monday evening after a crash that initially blocked the left lane. The incident occurred on the southbound side between Center Street (Exit 19) in Westport and Sherwood Island (Exit 18). Crash Causes Lengthy Delays On I-95
This story has been updated. The Labor Day weekend started off with a crawl -- on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County, at least. A serious crash initially took out the right lane on the southbound side in Darien between Noroton Avenue (Exit 10) and Route 1/Post Road (Exit 9). There was stopped traffic at the scene and stop-and-go delays of about a half-hour to Exit 13 after the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. There were residual delays after the lane reopened about an hour later.

Weekend Roadway Shutdown Starts During Maintenance Work In Fairfield County
A busy roadway in Fairfield County will be shut down for the weekend as crews do maintenance work in the area. The Monroe Police Department issued an alert cautioning that Route 25 will be closed from Brook Street to Knollwood Street, as they install a new box culvert at the Aquarion Reservoir. Police noted that the work zone will extend through the shopping plaza south of Knollwood Street with alternating traffic on Route 25. I-95 Cleared After Incidents Cause Gridlock During Morning Commute

A stretch of I-95 has reopened after one crash and a lane is no longer blocked on another area of the highway following separate crashes during the Tuesday morning commute in Fairfield County. Northbound lanes near the Bridgeport/Stratford border between Exits 29 and 30 had been closed following a tractor-trailer crash that occurred around dawn and caused an hours-long closure.
